CNN president Jeff Zucker shuts down rumors he plans to hire Matt Lauer

Rumors that the disgraced former Today anchor would join his former NBC boss at CNN were gained steam when Lauer attended Zucker's 54th birthday last month. At a CNN staffer town hall meeting Wednesday, Zucker was directly asked about the rumors. According to Page Six, "there was palpable relief in the office after Jeff confirmed Matt isn’t happening.”
