Candice Bergen: We're rebooting Murphy Brown as a "counterweight" to the Trump presidency

Before the 2016 election, Bergen recalls that she and Murphy Brown creator Diane English both said, "Eh, we did it. Why do it again?" But she tells E! News that Trump's victory changed their minds. "We sort of thought that it might be nice to have a counterweight to this administration," she said, adding: "We just thought the country might be in need of another fact-based voice."
