Colin Farrell signs on to reprise his The Penguin role in a The Batman HBO Max spinoff series

Farrell, who will make his debut as The Penguin (AKA Oswald Cobblepot) when The Batman starring Robert Pattinson premieres in March, has signed on to star in a TV series that would reportedly delve into The Penguin’s rise to power in the Gotham criminal underworld. The Penguin series, which was revealed in September, is one of two The Batman spinoff series in the works. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. writer Lauren LeFranc is attached to write the series, which Farrell and The Batman director Matt Reeves will executive produce.
