Disney+ adapting beloved children's fantasy book series The Spiderwick Chronicles

The announcement, part of Disney+ Day, included the first artwork for the bestselling book series by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. The Spiderwick Chronicles "follows the Grace family — twin brothers Jared and Simon, sister Mallory and their mother Helen — as they move into their great-great uncle’s home and discover a world of fairies that exists parallel to their own," per Variety. The five-book series was previously adapted as a 2008 film directed by Mark Waters.
