Mob Wives producer sends MTV a cease-and-desist letter over Families of the the Mafia

The current owners of the rights to Mob Wives, which aired on MTV's sibling cable network VH1 from 2011 to 2016, allege that MTV's new mob-themed reality show amounts to copyright infringement. Karen Gravano, the daughter of late mobster “Sammy the Bull” Gravano, starred in Mob Wives and now stars in Families of the the Mafia. When asked to explain the difference, she said Mob Wives focuses on the women of the mafia, while the new show revolves around the kids and families.
