She adds: "That some of our finest and most progressive comedians have pandered (intentionally or not) to White America’s worst impulses is disappointing but unsurprising. White America enjoys these jokes for the very reason that they are bad. That they lack insight and meaning. That they rest on lazy and incurious observations.”
