Al Roker is in the hospital again due to blood clot complications.

The beloved weather anchor had been discharged after spending a few weeks hospitalized with blood clots in his leg and lungs, but returned for further care after Thanksgiving. Roker missed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time in 27 years, and was also absent from the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center November 30.

"We all wish that Al could have been with us," said Today co-anchor Hoda Kotb, addressing Roker's absence during Thursday's show. "Due to some complications, he is back in the hospital, and he's in very good care. He's resting, and his doctors are keeping a close eye on him."

"Al and his family want everybody to know how grateful they are for all the love and support and the well wishes," Kotb continued, revealing that Roker gave them a "big thumbs up" over Facetime during the Thanksgiving parade.

Roker, 68, has been a Today staple full time since 1996. Dylan Dreyer has been filling in for Roker during his time away from the show.
